Why do "CD Quality" downloads cost more?

   Quite simply, because the files are larger. In addition to production and administration, we incur significant costs in delivering digital files to you. The larger the file, the more it costs to deliver. We appreciate that people like to have the choice between high quality mp3 (compressed) files and "CD Quality" (uncompressed) files, but there is a big difference in file size. For example, the "JAL To Tokyo" digital bundle is about 30 MB in it's mp3 form. As an aiff, or "CD Quality" form, the bundle is is about 208 MB. The additional cost between the two bundles represents our additional costs in storing and delivering the larger file.

   We're still developing our pricing model - so things could change (up or down in price), but our starting point is certainly very competitive compared to other services and we hope very much that we are able to maintain this position!
